Ambassador Launches DeskCopy-Connect, Providing a More Seamless and Transparent Process for Faculty and Publishers

Solution Automates Desk Copy Adoption Process for Schools and Validates Data for Publishers

Obtaining faculty textbook desk copies typically is a time-intensive process for schools and publishers alike, but Ambassador Education Solutions has a remedy. It’s new DeskCopy-Connect takes the hassle away from schools and publishers having to manage the process themselves, not only automating faculty acquisition so they receive their desk copies in a timely manner, but also validating data so publishers can easily verify and accurately fulfill faculty requests

“Easing course materials management and distribution is what we do,” said Steven M. Blicht, CEO of Ambassador. “DeskCopy-Connect went live at the beginning of this year and the feedback from both schools and publishers has been terrific, complimenting the easy to navigate process and its transparency for all stakeholders.”

DeskCopy-Connect authenticates a faculty member’s credentials for a desk copy, and then automatically delivers the necessary data to the publishers to authorize and provision the textbook. Ambassador’s no-duplicate order feature ensures that each faculty receives only one copy of each resource they are using in class. Additionally, faculty can request an eBook desk copy for select texts through Ambassador’s Digital Advantage. This allows faculty who traditionally use print textbooks to become more familiar with digital materials.

“It’s not unusual to get inundated with faculty requests for desk copies, yet Ambassador’s DeskCopy-Connect streamlines the entire process,” said Alan Hensley, Vice President-National Sales Manager at McGraw-Hill Higher Education. “Ambassador’s technology and solutions create efficiencies on many levels beyond this new functionality, enabling us to work closely with schools and faculty to make sure their needs are being met.”

Ambassador’s DeskCopy-Connect adds to the company’s product line that supports and enhances the school/publisher relationship. These other solutions include, for example, Publisher Passport, which provides publishers with on-demand, real time access to data on materials transactions, product sales trends and more; and SourceOne, which enables schools to manage student information, course materials requirements, student spending limits for financial aid/vouchers purchases, booklist adoption, and inventory visibility, as well as automatically post transactions to the student’s school account.
